Performance Squad - Selection Criteria

The criteria stated below will be used to select and deselect swimmers for Derventio eXcel Swim Squad - Performance Squad

Swimmers who achieve the following will be invited to join the Performance Squad of Derventio eXcel :

· National qualification at Age Group, Youth & Senior Level.

Swimmers who achieve the following will be considered and may then be invited to join Derventio eXcel :

· Within 4% of National Youth and Senior qualification

· A top 20 place at District Age Group

· The equivalent of a top 20 place at District Age Group

Please note 50 metre events are not considered for selection, except for in exceptional circumstances at the Head Coaches discretion.

If you are selected and accept the invitation to swim for the Performance Squad of Derventio eXcel you will need to achieve Individual, specific training volume targets in agreement with the Head Coach.

Disablility Squad - Selection Criteria

The Disability squad is still under construction & any swimmer, potentially involved will be kept fully informed of developments.

Swimmers who achieve the following will in time be invited to join the Disability Squad of Derventio eXcel :

· A time within 35% of World Class Start Times (Disabled) 2004-2005

· Age will be as at 1st October 2004

· A swimmer must have a valid IPC classification certificate

· The Head Coach & Disability Swimming Coaches, may select a swimmer for inclusion if they are currently awaiting or working towards classification

If you are selected and accept the invitation to swim for the Disability Swim Squad of Derventio eXcel you will need to achieve Individual, specific training volume targets in agreement with the Disability Swimming Coach & Derventio eXcel Head Coach.
