Day Six!
Posted 29th October 2008
Yesterday's land training was the choice between a sea swim and a run along the beach. Those mad enough to do the swim found it quite a challenge as the sea was rough and very cold!
The surprise Halloween party went really well and all the kids joined in with the games that we had planned! Apple bobbing and the like! We had face painting and mummification of the team managers!
Today is the last day of training – the week has gone really fast. Preparing the older swimmers for the Midlands short course and the younger swimmers for the season ahead.
All Mark's targets for the week have been met and exceeded. See you all tomorrow.
Day Five!

Swimmers Targets!
The target for all swimmers was to give 10% more than their norm on effort, skills, diet, attitude and all round professionalism.
With 48 hours left this week all the swimmers have raised their game! They are all trying really hard and the coaching team are very pleased with their efforts so far.
After dinner this evening we have planned a special surprise Halloween party. We will post some pictures tomorrow.
Day Four!
Posted 27th October 2008
Early morning training beginning at 6:45am with poolside stretching and warm up. Into the pool at 7:00am. The session finished at 9:00am with them all running to breakfast. This session needed to be spot on before the Venice trip was given the green light!
The group had worked really hard the past couple of days so we all took the planned trip to Venice! Age group swimmers stayed with the team managers and they went for pizza and ice cream. The youth swimmers were allowed to go around in groups! All the swimmers really enjoyed it and had an amazing time.
Many of the kids went for a ride on the Gondolas, which was a beautiful way to see the city. Time to spend a few Euros on gifts, hats and t-shirts.
Day Three!
Posted 26th October 2008
After this morning's training the team went to the beach to do their landwork! With most of them doing a run for around 15mins but others doing circuit training!
Afterwards the team joined in some team building activities! They included Toxic River!, Rope and Spoon!, and Body Passing!. (I am sure they will explain when they get back!) It was a really nice day to be on the beach and the team enjoyed the games!
We all came off the beach and went straight into lunch as they were all starving! Then it was back to downtime and straight into training again!
Day two!
Posted 25th October 2008
The rest of the team arrived safe and sound, at around 6 o'clock yesterday. The serious swimming starts today, with a big team talk this morning after breakfast.
The group have been split into 5 lanes: long distance, sprints, form, and two lanes of medley.
The gang took a trip to the local supermarkets to stock up on snacks, most choosing wisely, others not!
The group seem to be getting on really well, and working really hard, earning their well deserved trip to Venice on Monday!
